Harkaway Cottages are traditional stone 4*self catering cottages in a courtyard setting. They comprise of three groups of semi detached cottages each named after the families who farmed the land since the early 1800’s. Richard and Margaret Quirke invite you to share in our history and culture.

Our cottages are built using stone quarried on our farm. They consist of two one bedroomed cottages both en-suite, three two bedroomed cottages all en-suite, one three bedroom cottage with up and down stairs bathrooms. The interiors are decorated to a modern standard while the chosen materials and colours keep that traditional cosy cottage feel.

The courtyard of the cottages has a laundry room and also a games room in the converted coach house with pool table, air hockey, football table and a radio. This is an ideal place to meet with other guests. At the rear of the cottages there is a Barbecue/Patio area and a children's playground.

Harkaway is located six miles from Mallow Town and two miles from the picturesque village of Castletownroche in Co. Cork. Centrally positioned in Munster just one hour from Cork, Limerick and Killarney. We are ideally situated for hill walking on Ballyhoura or Galtee mountains and only nine miles from the Ballyhoura Mountain Biking course. Angling on the river Blackwater is only a short distance and our guests have permission to fish a stretch of this famous and beautiful river. There are four golf courses within a ten mile radius.
